Sushi in Montana?! I questioned whether this was a good idea or not. Happily surprised. I ordered their sushi roll specials and gobbled them up very unique and tasty! My only disappointment was cold miso soup. By the time I was finished with my rolls o didn't even care. Not sure when and if I would come back to great falls but if I do I will be back.

My husband and I love teppanaki, and we have tried many restaurants in this style. This one had a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. However, even though these places usually have higher volume, both times we went it was SO loud we couldn't hear each other talk. The food was pretty good, but we have had better teppanaki for sure. So not bad, but not amazing considering how much you pay

Took my wife there for her 50 birthday dinner. All I can say it was horrible. I had the seafood Undue. They cooked inattention crap in it and was mush. Omg it was gross. Had Salmon roll and was made from Atlantic farm old salmon. I am bewilldard how people eat here. Never again!

Love this place. Staff has always been quick, efficient, and friendly. Food is awesome. One of my fav places in town.

If I could give it a lower star I would. Waited about 10 minutes until I left. Not one person came over to even offer me water. Not that busy.

Very nice flavor, fun staff, overall great experience.

This food is not authentic. Sauces are fake and not the best taste since they put citrus in it. Would not recommend

I have been here four times with high hopes. The sushi is good but the service is ridiculous, the grill tables are irritating, the weekend hours leave a lot to be desired, the hostess is...mean. Every time I have come, I have been told I can't be seated until everyone arrives - and we didn't even want to be seated at the silly grills. I came in with a party of 10 on a Saturday night 10 min before closing and I guess we were weren't a compelling reason to stay open even though we intended to purchase sushi and my companions, alcohol. On one visit we were "forced" to sit at a grill even though the non-grill area was empty. Thus making it impossible for my party to have meaningful conversation because of the side-show we had to endure with flying knives and flames. I do like and recommend their Bento boxes but NOT the korean short-ribs which were almost completely impossible to chew and swallow. I would go again for the sushi or bento boxes I just wish the service/hostess were more personable, they would stay open later on the weekends, and they didn't force people to sit at the grills. In fact, I wish the grills did not exist. Seems like a cool place but maybe a little more pretentious than they need to be for the area. Bravo though for serving some decent asian dishes.

Fun and unique experience. Just what we needed! Food was great and service was even better! I admit I was rather skeptical about a eating at a Tepannyaki restaurant in Great Falls, but was immediately impressed that they had an experienced tepanyaki chef that didn't only know what he was doing, but joked around with us and occasionally tossed broccoli into our mouths as he prepared our delicious meal and reasonably priced meal. Our server was fun to look at and suggested sake bombs, which are a break from the norm and lots of fun to drink. Two chopsticks are placed on top of a glass with your choice of beer and a shot glass filled with warm sake is carefully balanced between them. See photo. We were instructed to chant "sake...sake...sake...BOMB!" in unison and slam the table with our fists on BOMB!, causing the sake to fall into the beer right before you "bomb it". Did I get that right?

My favorite restaurant in GF. Food is really good. Haven't had a bad meal in the 5-6x I've been there. The sushi is really good too. (as good as you can get living in MT) Service is good most of the time as well.

Living in Seattle for the last four years has spoiled my definition of good sushi. I'll admit, I was a bit apprehensive going somewhere that the fish has to be shipped in, instead of caught the night before. However, I was very pleasantly surprised! We started with gyoza and then had the California Gold, Spicy Scallop, Rainbow, and Crazy Dog rolls. They were all delicious! We will definitely be returning-it's great having a good, decently priced sushi joint here in Great Falls.

My boyfriend's family lives in great falls and we make a point of stopping here every time we visit. The food is delicious and the hibachi chefs are very entertaining. They don't take reservations on the weekend nights which I find strange because I would assume you would prefer to have reservations and organization on your busiest nights rather than being bombarded by walk-ins. Anyhow, we made a reservation for a large party for 7:30 and ended up having to wait for 30 minutes to be seated as if we hadn't called ahead which was slightly annoying.

Food was excellent! The soup was delicious. My teriyaki beef was the best I have had. Waiter was extremely good. Chef was quite entertaining. Had to wait 20 minutes in spite of having a reservation. Informed the waiter that we were allergic to shrimp. The chef prepared it after all the other meat as promised but then served it to us! This is a big mistake!

The sushi was fairly good, but the place was amazingly loud. We had to practically yell while sitting right next to each other at the sushi bar. The restaurant is obviously focused around the teppanyaki grills/chefs. Our waitress was great. She helped with sake choice and was very patient while we chose rolls. She happily added a to-go order for us to take home to our kids. The hostess was a bit snippy about our not having a reservation, even though the non-grill side was empty. When I asked about that side she snapped that we couldn't order anything from the grill over there. Not a problem, since we were after sushi. We tried one of the special rolls, the Tornado. Neither of us was too impressed with this deep-fried salmon roll; the fresh roll was much better. Next time we'll read the description more carefully! The "spicy mayo" was not spicy at all, but did have a little flavor to it. I thought the flavors were overwhelmed by the fried batter We were both disappointed in the heat of the wasabi. It was very mild. All in all, it was an average meal for sushi. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good enough to bring us back, although we'll probably try the grill next time.

We always have a great time here! Food and drinks are always great! Definitely makes for a great time with some friends or a date night! I always get the scallops, they are great! Sushi is also excellent! I would definitely check this place out!

Great place up there with Benihanas. Great prices too. Food was great quality. Family had a blast.

The service was too lax for my tastes. The food was OK, but didn't feel there was enough of it. I feel like you're paying for some guy to flip spatulas around rather than feed you. It was also overpriced on top of that. My own damned fault entirely for trying to eat Japanese food in Montana.

If you have been anywhere outside of Great Falls you will agree with this review. This restaurant is subpar compared to this style of restaurant anywhere else... Yum yum sauce Fail. I'll give them the fried rice; it was the only good part of the meal.

Pros High energy atmosphere. Tepenyaki chefs were very skilled at what they do. Sushi (yellowtail) was very fresh. Some of the best I've ever tasted. Cons Do NOT order the Kobe beef steaks! The worst piece of Kobe beef I've ever had...lots of gristle... it was tough.... isn't this supposed to be the most flavorful and tender beef in the world? Not here. I spoke with the owner about my experience and he could care less.

The food is average at best but the service is terrible. My wife and I went there once and had a bad experience, we thought that we'd give it one more chance and the experience was even worse. And the price is not cheap either. I don't recommend this place.

WOW! Service was spot on, menu had a large variety and the preparation/presentation was amazing. I couldn't wipe the smile from me face. The meal was exceptional and I will definitely come back next time I'm in town. A great experience for the entire family!!

found this place through yelp! and was feeling korean and Japanese food so when I saw they had a Kalbi bento box I had to come in since I could kill two birds with one stone per say. Food in General was good. Kalbi was a bit bland but the kimchi made up for it! love kimchi with rice. Didn't care for the dressing on the salad. California roll was well made and the miso soup was good on a cold day yesterday. pretty restaurant with good service. Not sure why this place got mediocre or bad reviews on service but the hostess was nice, got seated right away and my server was good and food came out in a timely manner. you get a lot of food with the bento box for a very good price, in my opinion, compared to what I am used to in other states. would come back here when I am town if I am feeling for sushi. I rate it 3 since I come from Minneapolis where the Japanese and korean food is really good and authentic. would have rated 4 stars if the Kalbi had been seasoned better and not so tough. noise level was fine. I sat on the regular side and not the teppenayki side but if you have been to restaurant that offers that option, it is about the show more than the food so noise level will be higher with larger parties. It is to be expected, if you want a quiet restaurant choose one that doesn't cook in front of you, which is the point of teppenayki

We kind of stumbled across this place on the way out of town. The place was not that busy during lunch time so it might not be a good sign. However, to our surprise the teppanyaki lunch tasted good and was of reasonable value. The waiting staff was friendly and the teppanyaki chef was skillful. The only down side to the restaurant is that it didn't have a baby change table in either the mens or ladies room, which made things interesting.

I have never been to this restaurant without waiting around for a bit. But this place is worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend coming here all the time, but the amount of butter and oil in the food. But it is worth a monthly "spoil" trip. This place has great Hibachi style food. The chefs are pretty amusing as well. They toss broccoli to see who can catch it. They make onion volcanoes. It you have young children they make love it or hate it! lol. After reading some of the posts, it seems people are irritated by the wait. This is what happens when you have a really good restaurant doing really great things. They get busy and swamped. I don't think it's their fault, they have a great place with great food. The food is scrumptious. My only recommendation is to make the portions bigger. The prices are pretty typical for Japanese steakhouse, even if we're in Great Falls. Bigger portions will lead to happy customers. Don't let the wait steer you away. It's a great place with a great ambience especially for a town like Great Falls. Great job Kobe!

Great place. Very similar atmosphere as Ichiban. Food was most excellent and service was great. If you want a dining experience, it will deserve a 20-25% tip.

Love Jap. food... Love sushi. The entertainment is worth it. Those chefs are great. I recommend the Lobster and Kobi Steak... its wonderful and now the only reason I go back there. The sushi... and I've tried it all the 8 times we've been there... IS AWFUL. Terrible disappointed. It all tastes the same, and that's not very good.

I love going to benihana so I knew I would enjoy this restaurant, all the sushi tasted great and the fried rice was delicious. The only negative was that the fried rice was really buttery but I guess that's what made it so addicting. The staff was friendly and our waitress was very nice and attentive.

It's like a Benihana's but not as great the service was great and the atmosphere was too but some of the food wasn't. We loved the sushi we just didn't like the rice an other main dishes we had was way to salty an too much soy suace. The price was lil to much for what we ate.

This newly-opened restaurant is doing a lot that is good, but they need to do a lot of improving as well. My first visit, we ate in the "regular" area. The Yakisoba was very good, and the miso soup was delisious. The sushi was beautiful, the tempura a mistake. We arrived near closing for our meal on the teppanaki side. We were assured it would not be a problem, but unless you enjoy being in the midst of a restaurant totally closing down, do not go near their posted closing hour. The food was pretty good. My NY steak was very good, the shrimp appetizer less so. The salad was incredibly bland - iceberg lettuce and too little flavorless dressing. The accompaning sauces were also less than expected. The one recommended for seafood had no flavor, the ginger sauce for meat was also quite bland. My husband's scallops were very good, his filet less successful. For $2 extra, they will do fried rice, which was OK. I prefer steamed rice to absorb the juices from the protein of the meal. The chef's antics inpreparing the fried variety are worth the money, however! Noise level is high, even without other diners. Our teppan chef was terrific, but with an accent in such noisy (music and cleaning up) environment, it was hard to make out what he was saying. The waiter who took our order was not good. Our only request was for chopsticks (why else would they cut up those beautiful cuts of meat, if not to make it easy to eat with chopsticks?) was met with a grimace but the requested implements never arrived. Great Falls has some wonderful restaurants, but this will be a wonderful addition to the city once the kinks are worked out. I will go back, but I will also hope for improvement. Service on our first visit was excellent. I will never again try to dine here after the symphony because being part of the closing down of the entire restaurant did not contribute to a pleasant experience.

Excellent food and service! Great menu with extensive choices. They even offer Thai noodles. Very clean and nice atmosphere. 5 stars! I will be back!

The best quality, and friendliest staff in Great Falls, if you do not know this type of cuisine, you might be a little impatient. But the quality is there and so is the service. The only place in town I go out of my way for to eat. There is not another place like it!!

For it being my first day in Montana, I was dreading about finding good food here but I'm so glad we ran into this place while driving around. There is a crawfish roll! What in the world?! I'm from California and have yet to see that lol the volcano roll was amazing fyi! Get it! We also had the cook make food for us on his grill. Super good. Only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star is because the chicken my husband had was dry. But the shrimp and scallops were delicious. Steak was good but not amazing and a bit overcooked. Oh and the chef was entertaining but I've seen better. But then again, it's Montana, I shouldn't be expecting so much. Regardless this place was really good and everyone should give it a try :)

Callie was amazing! Great atmosphere but the prices are high for the small portion you get. Do NOT sit at the end of the table you get smaller portions LOL if you are in great falls it's a cool place to go but bring your wallet :)

I have eaten at more than a few teppanyaki restaurants like Kobe with hibachi grills, and Kobe is by far my favorite! I think folks need to realize that Kobe is relatively NEW to Great Falls and new restaurants ALWAYS have kinks that work out. I have eaten there several times in the last six months and I personally love it! Their hibachi lunch is equally as delicious and they have great portions from the grill tables. The California restaurants like this (Nijo Castle) feel stuffy and formal, while Kobe feels like a Japanese steak house... In Montana! We sat at the bar waiting for a table on my first visit. My boyfriend had not tried saki before and the bartender overheard us and poured us samples of both hot and cold. We were seated pretty quick for how busy they were. My party and I sat at the hibachi tables. I think one of the reasons I love to go there (besides the food!) is the fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a quite place- you won't find it at Kobe on a Friday night! If you want a great meal and a good time, Kobe is for you.

Ohh probably another 5 but give it a 4 1/2. Portions are huge. Sushi doesn't get any better than this. We need to go back and try all the sushi rolls!!!!!

Food was fantastic!! Server was very helpful and recommended the crazy good "Crazy Dog" roll. I was traveling for business and will definitely be back and visit Kobe again!

I have to preface this review with the fact that I knowingly ordered sushi in Montana, and I had pretty low expectations. Unfortunately, the sushi met my expectations. It wasn't horrible, but it all had a weird taste to it...maybe something in the rice? That being said, the restaurant was pretty busy in the teppanyaki side, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal. The service was actually really good. Very friendly and attentive staff. I would go back again but I'd opt for the teppanyaki next time.
